A hybrid vehicle 100 can charge an energy storage device 110 by an on-board energy storage device 200 using electric power transmitted from an external power supply 500 via a charging cable 400. The vehicle 100 converts the electric power from the auxiliary battery 185 by an inverter 190, and supplies the electric power to an outlet 195 in a vehicle interior. Further, the vehicle 100 closes a relay RY10 provided between power lines ACL1, ACL2 transmitting the electric power supplied from the external power supply 500 and the outlet 195 when performing external charging, and directly supplies the electric power from the external power supply 500 to the outlet 195. When SOC of the energy storage device 110 falls below a lower limit value, an ECU 300 charges the energy storage device 110 with the electric power for starting an engine 160 by the electric power of the auxiliary battery 185 by using the inverter 190 and the charging device 200.
