When it is highly necessary to reduce the load of one of the extension and contraction direction force generating part 40 and a damping force generating part 102, owing to shortage of heat generation or electric power, one of an unsprung part damping force component of the extension and contraction direction force generating part 40 and damping force of the damping force generating part 102 is reduced, and the other is increased by processing of a damping load changing program. For example, by processing of S16, S17, when it is determined that a temperature of the extension and contraction direction force generating part 40 is high and a temperature of the damping force generating part 102 is low, in S20, the unsprung part damping force component is reduced, heat generation of the extension and contraction direction force generating part 40 is suppressed, and the damping force of the damping force generating part 102 is increased to suppress deterioration of the damping degree of the unsprung part.
