Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability to a side air bag.
SOLUTION: A side air bag 11 is composed of a trunk part protecting part 11b and a head part protecting part 11c. External reinforcing cloth 11a is installed in the head part protecting part in a loosened condition to a base material of the side air bag. At side collision time, the side air bag unfolds up to a head part position of an occupant between the occupant and a side door. A window part is damaged at collision time, and even if the side air bag strikes on a damaged window part, the damaged window part can be prevented from directly striking on the base material by the external reinforcing cloth. Since the external reinforcing cloth is installed in a loosened condition to the base material, the external reinforcing cloth hardly tears, and the protection of the base material is secured, and impact applied to the side air bag is relieved by a space formed between the base material of the side air bag and the external reinforcing cloth, and a tear of the side air bag is prevented, and reliability to the side air bag can be enhanced.
