Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion extraction electrode in which a contour line showing intensity distribution of an electric field is not distorted even when the ion extraction electrode having specified thickness is used in the end of a mesh, and ions can be accelerated in the perpendicular direction to the ion introduction direction in the vicinity of the ion extraction electrode similarly to the vicinity of the mesh.
SOLUTION: In a vertical acceleration time-of-flight type mass spectrograph having a vertical acceleration region comprising an ion pushing-out electrode 9 and an ion extraction electrode facing each other, a means 17 giving an intermediate potential between the potential of the ion extraction electrode and that of the ion pushing-out electrode is installed on the circumfeential wall surface in a vertical acceleration region, and potential distribution between the ion pushing-out electrode and the ion extraction electrode is corrected.
