Title:
VERTICAL BARREL TYPE VENTILATING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3842337
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the infiltration of rainwater by mounting an opening and closing flap on the internal center part of a vertical barrel blocked in the upper and lower end parts and having a vent hole on the lower part of a side wall and also a vent hole on the inferior wall upper part in such a manner as to be rotatable through a support shaft.
SOLUTION: A vertical barrel 1 formed of an exterior wall 2, a side wall 3, an interior wall 5, and upper and lower plates 6, 7 is mounted within an outer frame installed to the opening part of an end wall 16 in such a manner as to be attachable and detachable. Vent holes 11 are bored in the lower parts of the lateral side walls 3, a vent hole 12 is also bored in the upper part of the interior wall 5, and an opening and closing flap 14 is fixed to substantially the vertical center part of the exterior wall 2 through a vertically rotating support shaft 14. The opening and closing flap 13 is suspended down by its own gravity in general state, and when wind pressure is increased in a typhoon, the wind and rain infiltrated through the vent hole 11 pushes up the opening and closing flap 13 to block the wind passage within the vertical barrel 1. Thus, the wind and rain can be prevented from being infiltrated into the interior side through the vent hole 12 of the interior wall 5.
