To provide a vertical filling and packaging apparatus capable of well cutting a packaging bag by a cutter mechanism.
The vertical filling and packaging apparatus includes an air jet nozzle mechanism 8 which cools, by blowing air, a lateral sealed part FS of a film F heat-sealed by a lateral sealing member 5B of a lateral sealing mechanism 5 on the upstream of the cutter mechanism 7 in the carrying direction of the film F. The air is blown to the external surface of the packaging bag P by the nozzle mechanism 8 on the upstream of the cutter mechanism 7 in the carrying direction of the film F, whereby an internal sealant layer of the part FS heated and sealed by the member 5B is cooled, and cut by the cutter mechanism 7 while sealed with a sealing strength secured. Thus, the sealant layer can be prevented from sticking to a cutter blade 7A of the cutter mechanism 7, making the maintenance simpler than conventional.
