Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a lightweight, high-strength and high rigidity ship with changeability of the color, wherein it is also assured that there is no surface roughness because of nappiness generated at the time of processing, by using reinforcing fibers originating from polyester of aromatic type, which shows anisotropy at the time of melting. CONSTITUTION:The polyester of aromatic type used, which shows anisotropy at the time of melting, has such a property that it allows penetration of light in the temp. region with possibility of fluidification when sample powder of polyester is placed on a heating table, located between two 90 deg.-crossing polarizing plates, and heated. The polyester originates from dicarbonil acid etc. of aromatic type or derivatives therefrom, which undergo polymerization/ condensative polymerization either directly or through esterification, and the polymers obtained are subjected to heat treatment in inert gas or under decompression either directly or on pulverized substance, and the product is used as sample for spinning. Spinning is made continuously using a screw type extruder, and the product is applied to make a ship bottom whose matrix is plastic material, either directly or upon processing into the form of cloths such as plain weave fabric, heavy fabric, knitted fabric, sheeting, etc.
