To impart various colors of appearance and to improve the durability, depositing properties and adhesivity of a plating layer by providing the inside face of a vessel with a primer layer contg. silane and a coupling agent and thereafter forming an electroless silver plating layer thereon.

The inside surface of a vessel is applied with electroless plating of silver or the like. A coating film capable of viewing this plating layer from the outside is formed. This coating film is formed by applying a primer agent contg. any of alkoxysilane, colloidal silica and a silane coupling agent or a titanium coupling agent, metallic alkoxide (titanium alkoxide is excluded) or metallic oxide colloid and a silane coupling agent or a titanium coupling agent and executing drying. Or, on the inside surface of the vessel, the primer layer is formed, and, after that, the electroless silver plating layer is formed. Or, the primer layer is subjected to activating treatment, and, after that, the silver plating layer is formed. If required, a protective layer is formed on the surface of the silver plating layer as well.
