Title:
VIBRATION CONTROL DEVICE FOR SEISMICALLY ISOLATED STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002168002
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a vibration control device for a seismically isolated structure, which has a simplified composition and suits the miniaturization and cost reduction thereof, and whose performance can be stably maintained for a long time.

This device is provided with discs 31 and 51 for vibration control and friction pads 32 and 52 for damping, which are made to abut on the discs 31 and 51, so as to make them freely rotatable on a central shaft 2. This device is also provided with first and second coupling members 35 and 55 for converting tensile force or compressive force, which is brought about by outside exciting force, to the relative rotational motion of the discs 31 and 51 and the pads 32 and 52. The ends of the coupling members 35 and 55 are coupled to first and second structures for the purpose of making the outside exciting force applied to the first or second structure absorbed and damped by a damping action during the relative rotation of the discs 31 and 51 and the pads 32 and 52.
