Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize interference of a brace with a vibration control device.
SOLUTION: This vibration control device 10 is constituted by building a hydraulic damper 12 and a toggle mechanism 30 into a bearing wall 11. An end 12d of a cylinder 12a of the hydraulic damper 12 is supported by the toggle mechanism 30 for amplifying an input displacement. The toggle mechanism 30 is composed of a lower coupling part 34 which is fixed to the upper end of a lower member 22, an upper coupling part 36 which is fixed to the lower end of an upper member 24, a first link 38 which is to be turnably coupled to the coupling part 34, and a second link 40 which is to be turnably coupled to the coupling part 36. The hydraulic damper 12, which is coupled to the first and second links 38 and 40, slides while oscillating in such a manner that the end 12d follows the turning loci of both the links 38 and 40, and generates a resistance force at a piston speed based on the turning speeds of both the links 38 and 40.
