Abstract:
To reduce the vertical size of a vibration control device, in relation to the vibration control device for preventing vertical vibration of a structure or a building.
In a vibration control device 1, a weight 2 is hung on a spring 1, an oil damper 5 is provided, and a viscous drag is given. The weight 2 is immersed in a dense fluid 4, and buoyancy acts on the weight 2 in proportion to its volume and the density of the fluid 4. The elongation of the spring at this time is less than that of the spring 3 at the time when the weight is suspended without the fluid, and thus the size of the vibration control device 1 in the vertical direction can be reduced.
