Title:
VIBRATION DAMPING EQUIPMENT FOR RACKET WITH GATT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0919519
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set off vibration formed by the unbalanced force caused by the eccentric contact with a ball by attaching a viscoelastic member between the guts of a racket and making a movable member vibrated in out-of-phase relation to the racket to damp the vibration of the racket supported on the viscoelastic member. SOLUTION: A vibration damping device 10 contains the viscoelastic member 22 attached between the guts 16 of a racket 12 and movable mass or members 24 are supported on the viscoelastic member 22. The movable members 24 respond to the vibration induced by the shock to the guts 16 of the racket 12 to be movable in opposed relation to the viscoelastic member 22 and the vibration damping device 10 is vibrated in out-of-phase relation to the racket over the frequency range same to that of the racket 12 to damp the vibration of the racket 12. The main body of the viscoelastic member 22 has a pair of slots receiving a pair of the guts 16 of the racket 12 and the vibration damping device 10 is attached to the slots.
