Title:
VIBRATION-DAMPING MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3150181
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a vibration-damping material showing vibration-damping properties in a wide temperature range by using a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a cycloolefin with an α-olefin and having a specified Tg and a specified melting point.
CONSTITUTION: A vibration-damping material is formed from a cycloolefin copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a cycloolefin (e.g. norbornene) with an α-olefin (e.g. ethylene) and having a glass transition temperature Tg of 25°C or below and a melting point of 90°C or below. Although this material can be produced by an arbitrary process, injection molding can be desirably adopted. This material can show excellent vibration-damping properties in a wide temperature range, and can be used effectively in the fields of automobiles, household electric appliances, etc.
