Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibrations in traffic or earthquake transmitted between both a vibration isolating unit and a damping device and eliminate the need for a stopper by interposing the vibration isolating unit and the damping device between a floating slab for a railway or a car road and a foundation.
SOLUTION: A vibration isolating unit A and a damping device B are interposed between foundation structure 1 and a floating slab 2. The vibration isolating unit A comprises a compression coil spring laid out in the form of a matrix and an earthquake resisting wall in the horizontal direction. The damping device B is formed by submerging an operating member having a resistant board in a ring-shaped tank which stores silicon oil. Therefore, this construction makes it possible to absorb and attenuate vibrations of a floating slab by a running vehicle by using both the vibration isolating unit A and the damping device B together and reduce the response of the floating slab 2 itself during earthquake time and eliminate the need for the construction of a stopper which is considered as necessary hitherto.
