Title:
VIBRATION-SENSITIVE UNIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2935485
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a vibration-sensitive unit in which size is reduced while stabilizing characteristics by employing a solid state conductive ball.
CONSTITUTION: A vibration-sensitive element 1 constitutes a hermetically sealed container by means of a conductive housing 3 and a cover plate 2 where a conductive terminal pin 5 is secured hermetically through an electrically insulating filler 6 to a metal disc 4. A conductive solid state inertia ball 8 is contained rollably in the housing 3. A flexible conductive contact member 7 is secured to the conductive terminal pin 5. Upon application of acceleration, the inertia ball 8 rolls to enter between the arm part 7A of the contact member 7 and the bottom face 3A of housing thus coming into sliding contact with the arm part 7A and connecting the conductive terminal pin 5 electrically with the housing 3. In this regard, the arm part 7A comes into contact with the inertia ball 8 at a part other than the tip part thereof. This constitution lowers sliding resistance against the inertia ball 8 and stabilizes operation. Furthermore, frictional force is also stabilized when the inertia ball is reset to a regular position.
