Title:
VIBRATIVE CUTTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63300806
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To promote the improvement of cutting quality by providing a vibrating piece, which receives fine vibration of a cutting tool vibrating and reversely transmitting hitting force to an edge point, between an input shaft, driven by a main spindle of a machine tool, and an output shaft having a tool mounting part.

CONSTITUTION: An input shaft 1 is fixed to a main spindle of a machine tool by utilizing a tapered shank 3, and a cutting tool is mounted to a tool mounting part 23 cutting a workpiece. Here the input shaft 1, even when it rotates, causes an output shaft 2 not to rotate because a vibrating piece 16 is brought into contact with a bottom surface 13 when the tool is not adapted to the workpiece. Next the input shaft 1 is advanced, and when the tool is adapted to the workpiece, a cutting device, in which the vibrating piece 16 rides onto a tilt surface 14, connects the input shaft 1 to the output shaft 2 starting cutting. Here generating a fine vibration in an edge point, the vibrating piece 16 vibrates in the axial and diametric directions hitting the tilt surface 14. And the cutting device, which reversely transmits this hitting force to the edge point, improves the cutting quality.
