To provide a vice suitable for machining a workpiece having a plurality of surfaces to be machined, and a method and a device for efficiently perform the machining at high accuracy.
A fixed jaw 12 narrower than a base 10 is fixed at one end part in the longitudinal direction of the base on the longer side, and a movable jaw 14 narrower than the base is disposed on the base 10 along the longitudinal direction of the base 10 in an advancing/retracting manner to/from the fixed jaw 12 to constitute the vice. The workpiece having three surfaces to be machined is clamped between the movable jaw and the fixed jaw so that a full surface of each surface to be machined is protruded outwardly between the movable jaw and the fixed jaw, ad fixed so that either a bottom surface of the base or both side surfaces in the width direction is abutted on a fixed base, and either surface to be machined of the workpiece is machined in this condition.
