Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the usability and operability of a camera main body by automatically prescribing the operation mode of the camera main body according to the kind of an accessory connected to the camera main body and limiting the operation of the camera main body when the mechanism is improved by connecting the accessory to the camera main body.
CONSTITUTION: When the accessory is connected to the camera main body 10 through a multiple connector 11, the camera main body 10 recognizes which accessory is connected on the basis of discrimination information showing the kind of the accessory inputted from the accessory discrimination terminal of the multiple connector 11. Then the camera main body 10 automatically selects the operation mode matching the connected accessory among plural operation modes including a camera mode and a VTR mode. Consequently, the operation to switch the operation modes by an operation switch 13, etc., on the camera main body side is eliminated.
