PURPOSE: To allow a photographer to confirm his/her own line of sight (watching point) to attain optimum photographing by having a watching point detecting means and a display means displaying watching point information on a view finder.

CONSTITUTION: A video camera is provided with the view finder 101 electrically displaying a photographed image, etc., the watching point detecting means detecting the position of the watching point of the photographer, which consists of a watching point position processing circuit 109, etc., and a view finder video processing/displaying circuit (display means) 110 displaying the watching point on a finder screen 102. Watching point information detected by the watching point detecting means like this is displayed on the view finder 101 for monitoring. Thus, the photographer attains optimum photographing while instantly confirming that the video camera normally detects the watching point to an object.
