Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve random accessibility in a plurality of bit streams subjected to scalable compression by using a plurality of different codecs.SOLUTION: A video compression apparatus 200 includes a control unit. The control unit controls a second random access point included in a second bit stream corresponding to a first random access point included in the first bit stream. The second bit stream is formed of a plurality of picture groups. Each of the plurality of picture groups includes one or more sub-picture group. The control unit selects a sub-picture group of the earliest display order in the first and subsequent random access points, and sets a picture of first compression order, out of the selected sub-picture groups, as the second random access point.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
