To provide a video display device that can make a warning indication as measures against fatigue for a consecutive use by a viewer over a long time, in the case that the viewer wears the video display device to view a video image.

A controller 1 introduces a video image to a video display device main body 2 mounted on a viewer to display the video image to the eyeballs of the viewer. The controller 1 is provided with a timer 3 that measures an elapsed time from a reference time for video display, a warning signal generating section 4 that generates a warning signal on the basis of a set time elapse signal from the timer 3, a video signal controller 5 and an audio signal controller 6 that respectively extract a video signal and an audio signal from the video image and provided an output of them. The video display device main body 2 is provided with a video image display section 7 that displays the received video signal on the eyeballs of the viewer, a speaker 8 that delivers the received audio signal to the ears of the viewer, and a warning display section 9 that displays a prescribed warning symbol mark and a prescribed warning message or the like as a warning video image on the basis of the received warning signal.
