PURPOSE: To allow conversation against a visitor to be concentrated by using a display position means so as to designate the position of the visitor to be displayed with magnification and changing the position of magnification display in following to the motion of the visitor detected by a position detection means.

CONSTITUTION: When taking is started, a display position moving means 7 is moved manually to a position at which a visitor is resident. When the operation is finished, a position detection means 5 starts the operation and compares a preceding picture with a current picture to detect the change in the position of the visitor. Position change information is stored in the frame memory A of a magnification display means 6 and a part of the picture is zoomed and displayed on the screen by a read position command from a frame memory control means 6B. The read position of the means 6b is manually set by the means 7 and is changed automatically by the output of the means 5. Picture data being a digital signal outputted from the means 6 are converted by a D/A converter 8 and outputted. Thus, the visitor is always displayed in the middle of the screen.
