Abstract:
To provide a video recording device and a video recording method that can retain older data.SOLUTION: A video recording device according to the embodiment includes a storage unit, an acquisition unit, and a storage processing unit. The storage unit has storage areas for a first file and a second file. The acquisition unit acquires the video information obtained by converting the video data captured by an image pickup apparatus into I-frames and P-frames in a GOP (Group of Picture) structure by coding processing. Out of the video information acquired by the acquisition unit, the storage processing unit stores the I-frames in the first file, stores the I-frames and the P-frames in the second file, and preferentially overwrites the second file.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
