PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for the resetting of reservation by allowing reservation information stored in a nonvolatile memory to be read when a video recording reservation device is connected to a video tape recorder main body even when a battery of a video recording reservation executing device is consumed to execute video recording reservation.

CONSTITUTION: In realizing the reservation of video recording, an operating button is operated to actuate a reservation operating means 11 and video recording reservation information is set while being confirmed by a display means. The set video recording reservation information is stored in a nonvolatile memory 12. After the setting, the 2nd power switch 16 is opened and a video recording reservation device 10 is stored in the housing section, then the video recording reservation device 10 and the video tape recorder main body 1 are connected electrically, the nonvolatile memory 12 is actuated to apply its video recording reservation information to a reservation executing circuit 4. The video recording reservation circuit is formed by connecting the nonvolatile memory 12 and the reservation executing circuit 4.
