Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the utilizing efficiency of a recording medium and to correct plural kinds of characteristics of a video signal.
CONSTITUTION: When a TCI signal resulting from time axis compression and time-division multiplexing processing to a luminance signal and a line sequential chrominance signal is recorded/reproduced, any of 1st-4th correction signals 11a-14a each having an identification signal is selected and inserted to a TCI signal for its prescribed horizontal period and recorded, an ID detection means detects the identification signal at reproduction and correction means 30, 31 correct the characteristic of the TCI signal based on the any of the reproduced 1st-4th correction signals.
