Abstract:
To provide a virtual cathode oscillator tube capable of achieving more higher output efficiency of electromagnetic waves, and an electromagnetic wave generation method using the virtual cathode oscillator tube.SOLUTION: A virtual cathode oscillator tube includes: a plurality of cathodes 2 disposed to face each other at the periphery of a waveguide 1 where a vacuum state is maintained, each cathode allowing an electron beam to be incident into the waveguide 1; an anode 3 including a plurality of anode terminals 3A which are disposed to face the respective cathodes 2 at a space therebetween, between the cathodes 2 in the waveguide 1; and a reflector 4 electrically connected to the anode terminals 3A of the anode 3 to accelerate electrons emitted from the cathodes 2. In the virtual cathode oscillator tube, a virtual cathode V is formed along the long direction of the space between the reflector 4 and each of the anode terminals 3A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
