To attain the natural synthesis of a virtual space by estimating and extracting the aperture value and focal position of an actually projected image from an image of a blue back screen and securing the automatic matching of aperture value and focal positions between the actually projected image and a CG(computer graphic) space image that is obtained based on the extracted aperture value.
A camera parameter extraction processor 30 extracts the position, direction and lens zooming value of a TV camera 10 from a blue back screen 20 which is photographed by the camera 10. At the same time, the processor 30 extracts the blue color lightness of the screen 20. Then the aperture value is estimated and extracted against the extracted blue color lightness from a data base where the aperture value is recorded against the lightness based on the said extracted lightness. Thus, the aperture value and focal position of an actually projected image is estimated and extracted from an image of the screen 20 and the matching of aperture value and focal positions is automatically secured between a CG space image and the actually projected image based on the extracted aparture value.
