Abstract:
To provide a virtual tape management apparatus, a virtual tape management method and a program capable of optimizing a fee when storing a virtual tape file on a storage provided by a cloud computing.SOLUTION: A virtual tape management apparatus 1 is an apparatus to manage a virtual tape volume 21 constructed on a plurality of virtual tape files on a cloud storage 2. The virtual tape management apparatus 1 includes a file size determination unit 14 for determining a size of a storage area to be secured on the cloud storage 2 for storing the virtual tape file in line with a setting rule for each of the virtual tape files, and a virtual tape management unit 12 for securing the storage area with a determined size for each of the virtual tape files on the cloud storage 2 and storing the virtual tape file in the secured storage area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
