Abstract:
To provide a visible light responsive type photocatalyst having excellent photocatalytic capacity capable of utilizing light of a visible light region and to provide a coating film having self-cleaning properties, capable of keeping long-term hydrophilicity and high in transparency by providing a layer of the visible light responsive type photocatalyst on the surface of a base material.
The visible light responsive type photocatalyst 1 is constituted by successively laminating a titanium oxide layer 3, a metal oxide layer 4 containing an oxide of a metal different from titanium and a silicon oxide layer 5 on the base material 2. As the especially preferable metal oxide, Ta2O5 or the like is designated.
