PURPOSE: To enable proper recognition to be conducted without adding any special image pickup device to the outside by correcting the deviation of interlace time generated in the case of image pickup from image data stored in an image memory.
CONSTITUTION: An image is fetched (step 1) from a camera, and difference is calculated (step 2) between image data corresponding to an odd-number field fetched in the first time and image data corresponding to an even-number field fetched in the second time. A processing is executed (step 3) to obtain image data for recognition by correcting the image data corresponding to the even- number field, a recognition processing is executed (step 4) based on the image data, and the result is outputted (step 5) to an external equipment.
