Abstract:
PURPOSE: To estimate bit b(i) of the initial sequence from transmitted sequence. CONSTITUTION: A processor DSP and an operator 01 are included. The operator 01 sets conditional probability in which the maximum metric Metr (Ej ) of the lank r in a state Ej is set, the (r-n)th bit of the sequence corresponding to the above metric is set from an input value composed of the maximum metrics Metr-1 (E2k ) and Metr-1 E(2k-1 ) of a lank r-1 in a state E2k , and with respect to the aforementioned states E2k and E2k-1 , a prescribed value in which the (r)th bit of the sequence corresponding to these states is shown by, for example, Pr(b(r)=O/E2k and Pr(b(r)=O/E2k-1 , [when j<2 , k=2j, and when j >=2 , k=2(j-2 )], and Metr (Ej ) takes the larger value of two equations, i.e., Metr-1 (E2k )+Pr(b(r)=O/E2k ) and Metr-1 (E2k+1 )+Pr(b(r)=O/E2k+1 ).
