Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the quality of a voice even when a background noise from outdoors or the like is superposed to the voice in a digital mobile radio communication system such as an automobile telephone system and a portable telephone system.
CONSTITUTION: This voice coding and decoding system is provided with a noise superposing section detecting means 1 for discriminating a noise section including only noises and a voice section including a voice from an encoded signal encoded on the transmitting side, a sound decoding means 2 for decoding an encoded signal in the voice section into a waveform signal, a noise decoding meand 3 for decoding a decoded signal in the noise section into a waveform signal, and a noise control means 4 for controlling the means 3 when the means 1 discriminates the noise section and suppressing the frequency characteristics of the noise section.
