This voice coil motor M1 is a movable magnet type voice coil motor having a stator 21 and a moving member 22 arranged inside the stator 21. The moving member 22 has a magnet 5, a first disk-like pole piece 6, a second disk-like pole piece 7 and a cylindrical hollow pillar-shaped part 8. Since the outer dimensions of the magnet 5, the first pole piece 6 and the second pole piece 7 are set as approximately identical, respectively, the leak magnetic fluxes that magnetic fluxes from the magnet 5 and the first and second coils 1, 2 pass the first and second pole pieces 6, 7 to come off to the outside are suppressed and driving efficiency is improved.
