PURPOSE: To allow a person to easily understand a reproduced content of a radio broadcast in a short time by recording the content while being compressed to an information quantity as less as possible.

CONSTITUTION: When a reception means receives a broadcast and outputs a voice signal, a character code conversion means converts the voice signal into a character code and the converted character code is stored in a character code storage means. Since the voice signal is stored while being converted into the character code in this way, the information quantity to be stored is remarkably decreased. The character code string stored in the character code storage means is converted into a character by a display means as required and displayed as the character. The character display is convenient because the content is grasped by intuition in comparison with the voice sounding and the content is easily confirmed.
