To provide a volatilizer and a volatilization method, capable of efficiently volatilizing each aromatic component in a fragrance material and achieving a variety of aromatic expressions.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a volatilizer having a fragrance material and a plurality of volatile materials that volatilize an aromatic component contained in the fragrance material, where the plurality of volatile materials include at least a first volatile material having an absorption index, indicated by a specific formula, of 0.65 or more and a second volatile material with the absorption index of less than 0.65.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
