The volume reduction machine is equipped with a screw body having a rotary shaft in a vertical direction carrying and compressing waste treatment matter, the outlet side of the screw body is provided with a storage bag and a table of supporting the bottom of the storage bag freely ascendable and descendable, the load current of a motor driving the screw body is detected, the table is lowered by a controller in such a manner that the load current is held to a fixed value, and filling pressure in the storage bag is made fixedly regulable.
