PURPOSE: To dispense with the corrective work of a lower drum by quickly inserting an upper drum shaft cooled to a prescribed low temperature by a cooling means into a lower drum hole being kept at a prescribed high tempera ture while clearance fit relation is being kept.
CONSTITUTION: The lower drum 1 is placed on a holding board 10 heated with heaters 11a-11f and is kept at the prescribed high temperature. Also, the upper drum shaft 5 is placed on the table 30a of the cooling means 30, and is cooled to the prescribed low temperature. The upper terminal part of the upper drum shaft 5 is held with a holding means 15, and is descended after being moved from the table 30a of the cooling means 30 to the upper side of the lower drum hole 1a placed on the holding board 10 with a mobile mechanism 18, and is quickly inserted into the lower drum hole 1a. At this time, the upper drum shaft 5 is descended to a position where the lower terminal part of the upper drum shaft 5 is set at a state to press the upper plane 13a of a stopper 14 by receiving the load of a spring 16c. In such a way, the upper drum shaft 5 can be fixed on the lower drum hole 1a by conforming their central axes with each other, which dispenses with the corrective work of the lower drum 1.
