To obtain a vulcanizable fluoroelastomer compsn. which is excellent in mechanical properties, compression set, extrudability, and injection moldability by compounding a fluorocopolymer based on vinyidene fluoride and also having comonomer units derived from other ethylenically unsatd. fluorine-contg. monomers (e.g. hexafluoropropene) with a vulcanizing agent and an accelerator.
100 pts.wt. fluorocopolymer which is based on vinylidene fluoride and also has comonomer units derived from hexafluoropropene and tetrafluoroethylene is compounded with 0.5-10 pts.wt. vulcanizing agent of the formula and 0.05-5 pts.wt. accelerator comprising an org. onium compd. having positive static charge. In the formula, m and q are each 0 or 1; p is 0-3; n is 0-2; y and z are each 1-20; t is 3-10; R is H, a fluorinated aliph. chain, etc.; M is H or F; Q is a fluorinated bisphenol group, etc.; and P is a fluoropolyether- contg. group, pref. having a mol.wt. of 300-600. A pref. example of the org. onium compd. is a tetrabutylphosphonium compd.
