To obtain a vulcanizable rubber composition useful for producing a tire tread, excellent in side slip, roll motion, abrasion resistance, by blending a styrene-butadiene copolymer, etc., under a specific condition and incorporating a vulcanization system to the blend at a temperature equal to or lower than the vulcanization temperature.
(A) A styrene-butadiene copolymer in an amount of 20-95 pts.wt. is blended with (B) 10-70 pts.wt. of a vinyl polybutadiene, optionally 1,4- polybutadiene and (C) 50-100 pts.wt. of a silica or one in combination with carbon black, a silane coupling agent, a common additive such as sulfenamide except a vulcanization-based additive while heating to 100-160°C and incorporated with a vulcanization system at a temperature equal to or lower than the vulcanization temperature.
