To provide a walking distance recorder in which a user can grasp the extent of achievement easily by indicating a target walking distance and the extent of achievement by the name of an actual city.

A walking distance indicator comprises a vibration detecting element 7, a microcomputer 10, an ROM 9, an RAM 8, a liquid crystal indicating element 5, and SW2, SW3, SW4. The name of an actual city is set at a target walking point and the distance to that point, information of passing points, and the like, are recorded in the ROM 9. When a user carries the indicator at the time of walking motion, vibration is detected by the vibration detecting element and converted through the microcomputer 10 into the number of steps or the distance being recorded in the RAM 8. When an SW is turned on by a user, ROM information corresponding to RAM recording is displayed so that the user can advance while walking through the name of actual city and grasp the extent of achievement easily.
