To provide a washing device for a water quality detecting device capable of supplying compressed air of a required pressure to a washing nozzle while using a long tube of a small diameter, and demonstrating sufficient washing capacity for even a washing object portion of the detecting device body set deep in water.

This washing device for a water quality detecting device removing contaminant attached to an electrode part by compressed air jetted from the washing nozzle, is provided with a pump 40 as a compressed air supplying source; the tube 22 for supplying compressed air from the pump; a tank 20 connected to the tube 22 and disposed near the detecting device body 10 in the sample water W; a valve 30 connected to the tank 20 and supplied with compressed air; and the washing nozzle 31 disposed at the outlet side of the valve 30 and facing the washing object portion of the electrode part 13 via the sample water W. The valve 30 opens when the pressure of compressed air supplied from the pump 40 exceeds a given pressure, so as to jet compressed air from the washing nozzle.
