To reduce creases and entangling of laundry, to eliminate non- uniformity in drying and to enable efficient drying at all the time even when laundry stagnating water is put in or laundry is added in the middle of water supply in washing in a washing and drying machine, with which processing from washing to drying can be consistently performed.

This machine is operated under at least two processes of different time ratios of a tub spinning mode for performing drying while spinning an inner tub and a rotary blade rotating mode for performing drying while rotating a rotary blade and, correspondingly to the exact quantity of laundry 36 according to the result of a detection means 37b showing the presence of water equal to the quantity of laundry, the time ratio is changed to a proper time and a proper mode. Thus, the laundry can be uniformly and efficiently dried at all the time without being entangled.
