To provide a washing and drying machine to perform drying operation by using a heat pump mechanism having a heat exchanger, and capable of smoothly discharge dehumidified water without causing a clogging phenomenon due to a foreign matter such as lint, etc. in the dehumidified water produced by the heat exchanger.
A container type tank 50 constituted in a roughly closed state to collect and reserve the dehumidified water produced by an evaporator 30 which is the heat exchanger and a drainage pump 53 to discharge the dehumidified water reserved in this tank 50 are provided out of a route of a circulating duct 27, and a filter to catch the foreign matter in the dehumidified water is arranged in the tank 50. This washing and drying machine is constituted to discharge the dehumidified water collected in the tank 50 out of a main body 1 through the drainage pump 53 in a state of removing the foreign matter by passing the dehumidified water through the filter.
