A washing and drying machine includes: a tub used for laundry washing or the like; warm air supply means for supplying warm air into the tub; tub temperature detection means for detecting the temperature of the tub; load detection means for detecting a washing load; and control means for calculating and displaying the remaining time of an operation course on the basis of the detected temperature data detected by the tub temperature detection means and the load detected by the load detection means. The control means uses the tub temperature detection means to detect, as a current detected temperature, the temperature of the tub immediately after the start of the current operation course, and detect, as a previous detected temperature, the temperature of the tub in a state unaffected by heat from warm air before the execution of the current operation course. Then, the control means determines whether or not the current detected temperature is affected by the heat from the warm air of the previous operation course, selects the current detected temperature as the detected temperature data when determining that the current detected temperature is not affected by the heat, and selects the previous detected temperature as the detected temperature data when determining that the current detected temperature is affected by the heat.
