To efficiently dewater the laundry by changing the content of the dewatering operation (the final dewatering operation) just before the drying operation without increasing the total number of processes from the washing operation to the drying operation.
A microcomputer detects the weight of the laundry (the laundry before soaked in water) inside a drum before the washing operation (Step S1), and detects the size of variation of the torque of a motor in the washing operation (Step S3). Then, the microcomputer determines the quality of the fabric of the laundry inside the drum based on the size of variation of the torque of the motor in the washing operation (Step S4), and changes the content of rotation control of the dewatering operation just before the drying operation based on the result of determination of the quality of the fabric (Steps S14 and S15).
