To solve the problem that in domestic electric appliances, the use of only ozone cannot achieve high disinfecting and deodorizing effect while restraining deterioration of a member at low cost.
In a washing machine, for example, an object to be sterilized (washing) 14 is positioned in an inner tub 3, the amount of water as a radical raw material is adjusted to the object to be sterilized (washing) 14 by water amount adjusting means, further ozone as a second radical raw material is supplied by ozone amount adjusting means 6, and a metal ion is supplied by a metal ion supply device as radical converting means. Thus, suitable quantities of water and ozone are supplied to the object to be sterilized (washing) 14 so that radical is efficiently generated on the object to be sterilized (washing) 14 by the metal ion. As a result, high disinfecting and deodorizing effect can be achieved at a low ozone concentration and at low cost.
