To suppress the generation of an unbalance at the time of a dehydration by corresponding with the increase of a washing capacity by attaching a cup-shape motor bracket to a reduction mechanism with the opening section facing downward, arranging the reduction mechanism and the motor on the same axis, and diameter- expanding the entrance of the opening section of the motor bracket.
In a washing-rinsing process, a clutch spring 29a is released by the clutch driving means 29b of a clutch mechanism 29. Thus, by providing a state wherein the rotating force cannot be transmitted to a dehydrating shaft 22, the power of a motor 27 is transmitted to an agitator 20 alone through a washing shaft 24. Also, in a dehydrating process, water in a washing-cum-dehydrating tank 19 is drained. Then, the clutch spring 29a is driven by the clutch driving means 29b, and a state wherein the rotating force can be transmitted to the dehydrating shaft 22 is provided. Under this state, the power of the motor 27 is transmitted to the dehydrating shaft 22 through a reduction mechanism 25, and the washing-cum-dehydrating tank 19 is rotated. In this case, the motor 27 is housed in a cup-form motor bracket 26 with the opening section whose opening end is diameter-expanded and faces downward, and is attached to the reduction mechanism 25.
