Title:
WASHING MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013102919
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a washing machine that exhibits a sufficient sterilization action for a tub and laundry without upsizing a device and increasing a cost.

The washing machine includes: an outer tub 2 disposed in an enclosure 1; a drum 3 disposed in the outer tub 2 in such a state as rotatable by a rotating shaft 10 that is horizontal or slightly inclined from the horizontal direction; an electrolytic cell 4 that includes an anode and a cathode disposed face to face and produces electrolytic water containing hypochlorous acid by performing electrolysis; an electrolytic water supply device 6 for supplying electrolytic water in the outer tub 2; and an acetic acid supply device 9 for supplying acetic acid to the outer tub 2. Electrolytic water is supplied into the outer tub 2 and acetic acid is supplied into the outer tub 2. Thus almost all (90% or more) of hypochlorous acid contained in electrolytic water exists as electrically-neutral hypochlorous acid molecules having a high sterilization ability. Thus it is possible to achieve a high sterilization action for an inner surface of the outer tub 2 and clothing.
