Abstract:
The object of the present invention is to provide a washing machine, in which foreign matters, refuse, dust, etc. is less liable to enter, handleability is good and sufficient drying performance is obtained, with respect to the washing machine having a simple drying function by air. The solution of the present invention is that a washing machine includes therein an outer tub 16, an inner tub 18 positioned inside the outer tub 16 and a drive 26 for rotate-driving the inner tub 18 and has a cover member (cover 28) provided above the outer tub 16, wherein the cover member is provided with a vent hole 32 and a vent hole cover 33 for covering the vent hole 32 except for a part of the peripheral side. Thus, the cover 33 prevents the foreign matters, refuse, dust, etc. from entering from the vent hole. Furthermore, during drying operation, sufficient air is sucked through an opening 34 positioned at a part on the peripheral side of the vent hole 32 without opening the vent hole cover 33. Thus, the handleability is good, and the sufficient drying performance is obtained.
