To prevent deterioration of feeling of the surface and the damage such as inclination, entanglement and slip-off of wool of closing such as a blanket or the like by driving a rotary drum in one direction in such a range that clothing in the rotary drum is not rolled, oscillating, the same, driving the same in the reverse direction to oscillate, and continuously repeating the above process.
First, clothing such as a blanket or the like is thrown in a rotary drum, and water supply is started. As shown in the figure, during the continuation of water supply, the rotary drum is driven in one direction in such a range that clothing in the rotary drum is not rolled, oscillated and driven in the reverse direction to oscillate. Thus, oscillation designated number of times and the rotation of the rotary drum for rolling clothing are repeated. That is, the repeat operation of driving and oscillation of the rotary drum is performed for designated time or at designated number of times by a control device, and after that, the operation of driving the rotary drum over such a range that clothing is not rolled is taken as one cycle and the cycle is repeated. In the course of normal and reverse driving and oscillation, driving for rolling the clothing is performed to replace the upper and lower positions of the projected clothing.
